I’m writing this post to publicise an upcoming event:
Climate Science for Business Champions 2011
3.00 – 6.00 pm, Thursday, 17 November
CSIRO Auditorium, Lindfield
From the publicity for the event:
Climate Science for Business Champions will provide an opportunity for business, industry, community leaders and the general public to hear accurate and verified information about global warming, the problem, the causes and the need for solutions and leadership.
Over the course of this 3-hour forum, climate science experts will provide information that is easy to understand, and participants will have an opportunity to ask questions about what climate change means for their business and communities.
Importantly, the forum will enable delegates to take practical knowledge back into their workplaces and communities with the confidence to lead change.
I am promoting this forum for two reasons – firstly it is a cause that I’m passionate about and secondly because I played a minor role in its development. The suggestion to hold the forum came after a meeting held by Business Events Sydney, for which I’m an honorary ambassador. Subsequent development of the concept was carried out by Science & Technology Australia, the peak body for science advocacy in Australia.
For the list of speakers, further details and registration, please visit the Science and Technology Australia website and follow the link to “Climate Science for Business Champions”.
